| A K-grams Chapter's Key Partner |
Each K-grams Chapter must distinguish a "Key"
Partner who is keenly invested into their program. This Key Partner
is a big part of sustaining a sucessful K-grams!
Who is a Key Partner?
This partner typically is a college unit where students can safely
have a "base" for their operations from year-to-year.
Key Partners have included University Housing, Greek Offices,
honor societies, non-profit centers, college leadership units,
etc.
What exactly makes a Partner so "Key"?
While some chapters tend to have many partnerships and sponsorships,
the distinction of a "Key" partner is one which also
takes a certain extra level of accountability towards the chapter.
Among the three most important contributions that a Key Partner
makes to their K-grams Chapter are providing
an Advisor,
leadership development, and an annual financial sponsorship.
Because K-grams deals with such a wide array of people, it is
important that each chapter has a consistent contact each year
through its Advisor. By understanding the local needs of students,
the Key Partner also is crucial in cultivating and supporting
student leadership. Also, in efforts not to strain the students
with basic operating and membership costs, the Key Partner covers
their preliminary fees and costs each year.
How do you become a Key Partner?
Check out the list of the Pilot
Programs that are being started, and, if one is at your college,
please talk to us. Otherwise, you may submit your information
to our Local Network
and signify your willingness to become a Key Partner. We will
contact you with more questions and determine when/if we may build
a Starter School
at your college.
The student leadership and Regional
Liaison must also evaluate and determine who would best serve
as their Key Partner. These Key Partners serve as an invaluable
resource to the students and continue to add stability to all
Kids Programs.
