| Starting a K-grams Chapter |
Since its inception, K-grams' goal has always been
to connect two dynamic communities: elementary and college. As
a matter of fact, the mission of the organization has only changed
a word or two since a half-dozen undergraduates gathered on their
campus to create K-grams. Currently there are three distinct stages
we go through in starting a K-grams Chapter. These are the following:
Local Network -
these include either individuals or institutions that desire
to be a part of the K-grams network. Affiliates are placed in
a queue with the National Office until the proper partners within
their local area have been developed to create a Starter School.
Starter Schools
- a college/elementary community that has been approved by K-grams,
Inc. and has a continued relationship with Regional Liaisons
and the National Office as they develop their programming.
Official Chapter
- a Starter School which has functioned for about a year and
demonstrated the criteria necessary to maintain a K-grams Chapter;
at this point, they are officially granted a charter!
