Kids need positive role models to reinforce their
sense of self and widen their understanding of the world. Procurred
through personal relationships, K-grams allows kids - big and little -
to become role models, mentors, and friends for each other. There
are many reason why you should want to start a K-grams ... but
the simple reason is that it's for the kids!
What separates K-grams from the rest?
K-grams is unique as a service/mentoring program for many reasons.
Through our programming, we:
- Give kids (both young and old) a real-life purpose for writing
- Offer a simple way to get involved, then a simple way to get
MORE involved
- Encourage the use of reflection as a technique to foster the
letter-writing process
- Widen the spectrum of learning opportunities by not only bringing
kids to college campuses but also through bringing college students
into classrooms
- Offer a national network of students, educators, and more
who are invested into student programming and youth development
- Combine mentoring, leadership, and service all in one fun
package!
